FAD day Two: Hattrick planned

Day Two - Saturday 2nd December 2006!

We supposed to have breakfast before 09:00 at the hotel, but I misunderstood the whole concept and thought that I was supposed to meet at 09:00, luckily JoergSimon came to fetch me. Thanks Joerg.



After that GeroldKassube came and we started our social event first as a visit to a Swiss Brewery "Feldschloesschen"

In the end, each one of us got a postcard(to be posted freely by the brewery) to fill. We tried to get as many addresses of Fedora contributors as possible from the internet. If you happened to be lucky, do tell us if you receive a postcard from the FAD attendees. In any case, we thought about all the fedora contributors.

At noon, we started our FAD meeting.

Since we (GeroldKassube, FabianAffolter, FlorianBrand, FrancescoUgolini, JensKuehnel and JoergSimon and I) covered the four important and active Countries and regions in EMEA: France, Italy, Germany and Switzerland at the first FAD, our discussions were mainly related to these, we agreed/disagreed on many numerous topics, proposed new ideas and planned to organise and participate in as much Linux events as possible.

On the agenda, there were: # Status of local contributions to the Fedora Project.
# Status of newly recruited Fedora Ambassadors
# Difficulties encountered
# Some notes from FAMSCo members and Fedora Board members.
# Next Events and FUDCon in Europe

Among the decisions taken there are:
# To help new ambassadors with a mentee program
# To enhance FAMSco voting system
# To assign via vote one Fedora Ambassador as FAMSCo member who will represent his/her region or continent.
# Strong presence on FOSDEM,Chemnitz and FROSCON(Hattrick)
# To provide appropriate support to local community websites in order to spread the message the Fedora way
We also tried to catch up a few people from IRC/jabber or even by phone, in order to plan properly our events.

All these items were/will be announced soon on the Fedora Ambassadors mailing list.

Till now, some of our decisions was fulfilled:
* Ambassadors should be private
* change wordings on wiki/Ambassadors/Conduct - on/off ambassador status

These two documents included our meeting minutes/report and what was really discussed.

Our hattrick idea is to provide a strong presence during these 3 events:
* 24&25 February 2007 Fosdem - organize a FUDCon in Brussels [en]
* Chemnitzer linux-tage 3-4. March
* Froscon Bonn (25th August)
among lots of wiki/FedoraEvents

At 20:00 we headed to a swiss/german restaurant, the food was simply great! I had a mexikanish rösti. hmm I still think of it. (let's hope Mirjam will cook it for me, hihihi) In the end, we ended in a "get-together" room at the hotel, with internet connection. We drank the two bottles of wine, I brought from Alsace and chatted about the details and some questions which were still left unanswered.
